Meet the Physiotherapist/Owner
KRISTEN MACDONELL, MSCPT, HBKIN, M.C.P.A
Kristen decided at a young age that she wanted to become a physiotherapist and her passion for the profession is undeniable. It has always been her dream to open a clinic in her hometown of Cornwall, ON and she is proud to be providing an unparalleled skill set developed over the past 14 years to this community.
The name MacDonell Family Physiotherapy represents a desire to ensure each client receives the type of care/treatment she would expect for her own family members. In addition, Kristen is pleased to offer a service that supports clients from all age ranges from pediatric to geriatric – the whole family!
What Physiotherapy Services Do I Provide?
Oncology/Cancer Rehab (From cancer diagnosis to post-treatment care; addressing side effects of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation etc)
Supporting clients through:
- Fatigue Management
- Scar Management
- Lymphedema Prevention
- Improving Range of Motion
- Pain/Symptom management
- Posture strengthening
- General conditioning
- Post mastectomy management
Neurological Conditions
Using Neuro-Developmental (NDT/Bobath) techniques to support clients with neurological conditions such as Acquired/Traumatic Brain Injury, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Neuropathies, Stroke, Spinal Cord Injuries and more!
Orthopedic Injuries/Conditions & Post-Operative Management
Providing hands-on individualized care to assist with pain management, improving range of motion and/or strength, and supporting return to function or sports.
Every client will receive an individualized home program to help them maintain their physiotherapy success!
Pediatric/Youth Rehab
Utilizing a unique skill set to assist with conditions such as torticollis, plagiocephaly, cerebral palsy, club feet, along with generalized developmental delays from birth through young adulthood.
In addition, providing education and support to family and caregivers to maximize their child’s physiotherapy success.
COPPER OUR MASCOT
Copper is a 4 year old mini dachshund who is a client favourite and can occasionally be found at the clinic offering himself up for pets, challenging you to a game of ball or snoozing in the sun.
PLEASE NOTE – Copper ALWAYS makes sure you want to meet him before he makes an appearance!
